Sorry I have been a little M.I.A. Between life/work/fighting a cold, I have been tired/busy/checked out.

Back to blogging.... So I think Pantone missed the ball this year with that horrid orchid color. Indigo would have totally gotten my vote. While indigo has no place in my home currently, I love to see it in other spaces.

Work clothes can be super boring so I pop on my favorite baubles to make it fun. You can add color or just some more detail to an otherwise boring outfit. Here are some of my favorite jewel sources:

Anthro Love

Anthropologie is not only a favorite clothing destination but they have some killer home and gift items. I love perusing for great finds and usually walk out with a thing or two. Tip for those Atlanta folks: the sale section at Lenox is always amazing!

Here are a few recent faves:

These past few weeks consisted of work, relaxation and work (in the house format). Here are a few pictures... via cell phone:
Top Row
My parents and hubs helped bring my biggest project of our bedroom to life. I really wanted cornices to dress up the room and I could not be happier with the final result. / The bullies need a bath majorly and I had to capture their displeasure.

Second Row
I got my hair done at Glowdry here in Atlanta (think DryBar but much easier to get an appt less than two weeks out). I was super pleased with my experience and result / Our master bath finally got a facelift after 18 months in the house. Nothing a good paint job couldn't fix.

Third Row
Here is the bathroom re-do in mid-project / Couple shot from the Christmas holidays

2 0 1 4

I seriously cannot believe that it is already a new year I learned a lot this past year but can't wait to see what 2014 has in store.

I learned:
  • Good people are here to stay. Value those in your life that lift you up and lift them up in return.
  • Life is too short for the petty stuff. If you can forgive and forget, then do just that.
  • Sometimes you just need to take some "me" time to disconnect and refresh.
  • Everyone needs a little travel to unwind. This can be back to your hometown or a European excursion.
  • Little moments count the most. Whether it is a sincere thank you or a heartfelt text, those little things are the ones that matter.
  • Friends are worth it. Those good/great/stand-by-you whenever-you-need-it friends are the ones that will be with you forever. Those people are the ones I value most in my life.

Looking forward to 2014 I can think of only one goal. Yes I want to get back to my wedding weight or cook more for the hubs, but my number one resolution is to be in the moment. I need to not think about the next vacation or the next home project. I need to value my present gifts and appreciate the little things.

Happy New Year!
