Outdoor Entertaining

Summer temps are here and they seem like they are here to stay. All this summer talk makes me think of cookouts and outdoor get-togethers. While still manageable, outdoor festivities are the way to go.

Tons of companies are now featuring inexpensive outdoor decor to make any space adorable... check out a few here:

I live by the motto that when you find something you love, you share it.... well I love Rifle Paper Co. This precious company, based in Florida, has some really unique items that are great to gift and keep. I adore my current phone cover and a notepad that I love so much I hate to write in it.

This husband and wife team have some great style and major talent. You can find their items online, at Anthropologie, Swoozie's, etc.

My Lulie

The hubs pulled out a complete surprise this past Christmas with a gift I will treasure forever.

I have always admired Lulie Wallace's work and mentioned it several times the past few years. Well, he gifted me a commission for my very own piece of artwork.

I sent her inspiration photos of my wedding and bridesmaids' bouquets. I also knew I wanted to place the piece in our kitchen for all to see. After several months, it is here and I am still giddy. I am even contemplating one of her mini works for the nursery gallery wall.

Nursery Mood Board

Gees I have been a blogging slacker. Truthfully, I have let all things slide lately when it comes to savoring any leisure time I can find.

This Friday, we are getting new carpet and I could not be more thrilled. That is because the nursery can finally start coming together. Let's drink to that (mocktails that is).

Here is the mood board for the nursery. Think neutrals with pops of color in fabrics and accents.

Crib - I have always loved a Jenny Lind crib and the prices could not be better.

Dresser - long story short, we currently have two dressers waiting to be built. I had my heart set on a greyish color for the longest only to find out it was discontinued. As we were in line to buy the white version this weekend, a sales rep said they found the last grey dresser (potentially in the entire country) in the wrong box. Now I have a major dilemma where the final decision seems to change daily.

Fabrics - For the curtains I chose a colorful floral print. I figure she can carry it to big girl room later down the road. The bedding is a grey linen with a pop of pink in the chair pillow. Can't wait to see it all put together.

Glider - I wanted a comfortable, somewhat stylish glider and we found the perfect one (complete with holiday sale prices). The one we chose is much lighter in color and has a woven texture.

Life has been non-stop lately and it doesn't seem like it will let up anytime soon. All the more for making time fly until we meet little one in September!

Here are some "lately" pictures from my phone:
1 - Adult spring break in Colorado (and no I did not ski)
2 - Belly shot from 19 weeks (3 weeks ago); the bump is small but mighty
3 - A trip to the Varsity for some yummy grub
4 - The fur babies freaked when I moved their beds in the hall one day while cleaning; you can see Winston staking claim
5 - Gender Reveal set up
6 - Focal fabric for the nursery; still surreal I am looking at florals
7 - Stencil work in bambino's nursery bookcase
8 - Baby shot from last week's appointment; she was not very cooperative with the profile shots
