"A strong marriage requires two people who choose to love each other even on the days when they struggle to like each other." - Dave Willis

I will be the first to admit I am a hard person to live with. I am independent and Type-A to a fault. I like order and structure. My husband is pretty opposite in every way I just mentioned. My husband however is a rock and a stronghold when I am not myself. When I feel like giving up he firmly just says failure is not an option.

Marriage is hard to me. Marriage is harder with kids. This year has been a tough one with some unexpected obstacles thrown our way. We haven't made time for ourselves much less each other.

This past weekend, we had a night to ourselves and discussed our wants and wishes for the future. On our wedding day we vowed for the future, versus the past, which I think so many people get stuck on; thinking what could have been done differently opposed to taking each new day as a gift and seeing what could be done in the future.

Cheers to 77 more years and our forward-looking perspective!
